Saturday, January 26, 2019 - Tasted blind in VV.

Youthful and moderately translucent ruby red color. Somewhat unfocused nose that feels all over the place; some brambly raspberry tones, a little bit of wild strawberry, light sappy green tones and a hint of woody oak spice. The wine is dry, medium-bodied and slightly underwhelming on the palate with relatively mild flavors of brambly raspberries, some jammy red fruits, a little bit of ripe strawberry, light vanilla tones and a hint of new leather. Overall the wine feels a bit soft with its medium acidity and ripe, mellow tannins. The finish is soft, medium-long and quite light with dilute flavors of wild strawberries, some woody spice, a little bit of sappy greenness, light jammy tones and a hint of vanilla.

Meh. A rather mediocre effort lacking in flavor and focus. Tastes like a Rioja that is diluted to half of its original intensity. Rather disappointing - I'd go straight to Reserva level instead of trying to save a few bucks with this kind of swill. Poor value at 11,59€.
