Sunday, March 6, 2016 - Definite improvement since last year, this is starting to drink well. Still quite tannic, with a bitter twinge to the finale, but after a few hours in the decanter, enough spicy fruit emerges to make this a good St.Pierre, if not a great one. I still wonder if they couldn't have done better: the fruit will never have the intensity and sweetness of a great vintage, so less oak and extraction would have been more appropriate. Probably still two years away from its peak, but I wonder how long the fruit will enable it to last after that.
