Inky purple color, opaque to the rim. A massive wine that unfortunately wasn't giving up too much initially. Some blueberry and dark fruit notes followed by dark fruit and tannins on the palate. This started to come around with some vigorous swirling toward the end of the course, and the food helped. Clearly young and nowhere near ready to be opened.
