Thursday, April 14, 2016 - Tasted at Larry & Janet’s home. Not only was this a stunning vintage from Washington State, but with eleven years of cellar time, it truly sang on the palate! I am trying to give all of my Cayuse wines at least a decade years of cellar time which has at times proved to be almost impossible! After tasting, I believe this vintage could have remained in the bottle another ten years with no problems. Twenty four hours after decanting, there was much life left in the tasting.

Decanted for 2 hours
Color: Black ink
Aroma: blackberries, licorice and campfire smoke
Palate: dried meat, prunes, plums and green olives…just unbelievable texture.

The Temranillo had an excellent sixty second finish with very little “Cayuse funk”. It is simply a delicious wine now positioned in my to five Cayuse favorites. My only regret is that I wish I had six more bottles in my cellar aging to perfection!
