Saturday, January 8, 2011 - Ruby and violet with medium/lite viscosity in the glass. Dark fruit, mushroom, game, earth, currant and hints of graphite on the nose. Round red fruit, game, earth and cedar on the palate with secondary tobacco. A balanced mouthful with a tight, sturdy structure, but lacking power in body. Medium/long finish brought in more svelte spice. First impression was that this wine was showing young, though after it opened up it became more apparent it wouldn't have much more to offer. Very grateful to have enjoyed this old world treat.
