Wednesday, May 16, 2012 - Splash decant and drank over 1 1/2 hrs. Medium ruby color and suprisingly bright red fruit on the palate even 1hr in. Mostly dark cherry flavors with the secondary flavors of coffee, tobacco and a touch of licorice being very minimal. Some decent tannin appeared about 45 min in. A touch of a hollow spot on the mid palate but very smooth, long & lush finish. This bottle had a few more years in it, and maybe needed it to develop some of those secondary flavors as this was mostly about lush red fruit. Very good wine.
