Friday, May 31, 2013 - Big, sweet nose with youthful, dark color to the rim. Musty, in a good way, with gobs of sweet plums, cotton candy, and creamy oak. Chewy texture with silky, integrated tannins on the palette but lacked the depth and intensity shown on the nose. Medium finish. I guessed this was a merlot-based wine because of the plumy roundness, but evidently this was made with nearly 100% cab. Overall the score is mostly based on the extraordinarily rich and expressive nose.
