Saturday, March 8, 2008 - Dark purple with a slight red aspect. Nose has Novy's signature all over it – smoke, bacon fat, dark cherries, maybe a little chocolate. Great red fruit with some coffee on the palate, and the fruit and prevalent acidity balance each other out well. The mouth feel is a little lighter than I remember from the first time I had this wine in December and there is a little heat on the finish, which I also don't recall. This is my favorite of the Novy SLH Syrahs.
