Tuesday, September 19, 2017 - The nose was remarkably pretty, yet dark and rich with sweet violet floral tones, crushed blackberries, licorice, black tea, and hints of spiced citrus. On the palate, I found silky, medium-weight textures with pure, floral-tinged blackberry fruit, sweet spice, and chalky minerality which balanced out its violet and soft black fruits brilliantly. The finish was long, floral and fresh, with lingering minerality and remnants of crushed violets. The ‘15 Plan de Dieu represents remarkable value.
