Thursday, September 21, 2023 - The disappointing Artemis we had last week tempered my expectations of this wine because it’s another winery owned by a large corp. from outside the valley. (Napa has a long history of big corporations turning great wineries into mediocre wineries) This is another wine I got as a present, and I did put some age on it in the cellar largely out of nostalgia. But I gotta say, this was really good! Classic Napa Cab, in a style we quite like: medium-full bodied, fruit (blueberries, dark cherries) is ripe but not overpowering, spicy (cinnamon, clove), oak beautifully integrated. Pop and poured it, no food. I was prepared to decant it, but after tasting didn’t think I needed to. It’s ready to go!
