Monday, September 11, 2006 - Drank this side by side with a 2000 Alexander Valley Vineyards Cyrus meritage. Both were decanted. The Cyrus was initially more user friendly. This wine was deep in color with a bit of bricking starting to form around the edges. However, it appears to have plenty of life left. It was dense inflavor with classic Napa Valley characteristics such as earth or mushroom, currant, licorice/cocoa and deep berry. As it aged it become very smooth but possibly a bit less complex.
