Tuesday, May 5, 2009 - Dead Arms are always frustrating for me. They always seem to be tight and the necessary decant to reach the sweetspot can be days in my experience. This one was tight on day one, with lots of oak, thin raspberry fruit, vanilla, and black pepper. Day two (sitting in a bottle with frosted stopper and no air-fluid level) was its best, lots of violet, choclate, vanilla, black peppe, and a hint of eucalyptus. Really good, Day three and four, stored the same way, were more of day two, but not quite as good. I suppose I'd double decant 24 hrs if I was going to serve one at a dinner party.
