Saturday, March 16, 2013 - Cork crumbled while opening, even with the Ah So. Used the new wine aerator my wife gave me, with some scepticism, and got good results.
Amazing black cherry with touch of vanilla oozing out of the decanter, immediately on pour. Turned to cassis, spice, vanilla, leather and mild liquorice in the glass. After a while the cherry and some black pepper peeped out.
A big wine, very dense with almost purple core, although now pale rim. The alcohol is noticeable on the nose - a nominal 15%; I'll bet! Still I enjoyed this more than last time I had it - an extra year in the bottle, an extra year in my life.
