Sunday, April 16, 2023 - It starts like grapefruit rock candy, complete with a bit of residual CO2 and high acidity. As we drink the bottle the CO2 blows off and a smooth, smoky wine lays underneath. Petrol is beginning to show itself alongside ripe orchard fruit and chalky minerality. The mouthfeel is phenomenal, it has a phenolic grip that pairs so well with salty fatty foods. Another stunner from Lauer that could easily go another 5 years.
