85 Points

Saturday, February 3, 2018 - A blend of freshly picked Pinot Grigio and overripe Verduzzo that was dried for 3 weeks. 13% alcohol, 5 g/l residual sugar, 5,5 g/l acidity. Tasted blind in VV.

Pale lime green color with light lemony overtones. Ripe, sweet and juicy nose with aromas of zesty citrus fruits, candied gummi bear tones, some whitecurrants and a little bit of beeswax. The wine is medium-bodied, bright and refreshing on the palate with slightly sweet, not-quite-off-dry flavors of ripe apples, some grassy greenness, a little bit of crunchy whitecurrants, a hint of honeyed richness and a touch of white peach. Overall the wine comes across as pleasantly balanced with good, moderately high acidity. The finish is bright, quite smooth and pretty long with fruity, dry-ish flavors of ripe golden apples, some grassy greenness, a little bit of white peach and a hint of honeyed richness.

Perhaps a bit of a crowdpleaser, yet still a quite pleasant and balanced white with good sense of structure and some depth to its fruity flavors. Nothing too exciting or memorable, but overall a well-made, modern everyday wine. Priced according to its quality at 13,90€.
