Thursday, June 16, 2016 - Enjoyed this recently after a wine dinner courtesy of Tim Wallace of the Wine Vault in Charlotte NC. An unbelievably good, not overly sweet / not cloying and mature Loire Valley chenin blanc that at the average CT price is a fantastic QPR wine. In a very good drinking window and probably not a lot more improvement to be expected with aging but definitely intense enough to have at least a decade of life left with proper cellaring. Dark amber, very smooth, well balanced, full bodied, not cloying or jammy at all with a delicious very long lingering aftertaste. Nose warm and deep with honey, honeysuckle, burnt sugar and spices. Flavor profile consisted of well balanced honey, caramel, raisins, warm cooking spices and melted butter. Highly recommend this wine if you can find it.
