Wednesday, July 26, 2017 - A calm, even and complete wine. It starts off and always remains in balance but the aromatics really unlock after some air time. There are notes of burnt fig, leather, cardamom, tobacco and something woodsy/undergrowthy. In the mouth, flavours vacillate between vinous and sweet to savoury and earthy. Tannins have all but melded away yet the wine has enough grip to perfectly accompany a mild curry of Wagyu beef. The finish has a kiss of breezy acidity and it has fabulous persistence.
