Friday, April 17, 2015 - Still with plenty of colour to it, a deep burgundy with slight brick tinge around the edges.
Gorgeous rich nose, black and blue berries, inky violets, strong minerality, almost salty. Hints of dried earth but nothing overly gamey.
Supple entry and nicely fleshy middle. Fruit dominates the flavours with an earthy minerality starting to assert itself. Delicious. Finish has good acidity and powerful tannins which are very fine but very drying, a little too strong really. Old school tannins which don't seem likely to come into balance give we've already had 14 years.
