Monday, February 5, 2024 - Very Good
Opened the first night to taste along side a '15 Baudry La Croix Boissée to see what to have with hanger steak au poivre-ish. The Baudry won that night and this Olga Raffault contrasted as much fresher, showing vanilla and raspberry in the nose, maybe violets. Clean and pure, some granite? But overall, rather simple. Now, it's still showing its roots and works as a very nice bistro wine, but at 10+ years past the vintage I was hoping for a bit more. I don't know if this has the depth and structure to age, but I'm bumping my drinking window out to 2031 to encourage me to sit on the other bottle for another 4-5 years.
