Wednesday, August 16, 2023 - Earthy notes overlaying complex mixed berries. Fresher on the palate with a lot of fruit still - complex and textured. Expansive mouthfeel showing some breath. No sense of any leanness at all / fully ripe with a pleasant gentle sweetness that comes with Pinot. Acid in perfect balance, giving the wine some freshness. Soft and fully integrated tannins now. Good length. Ultimately it is a little straightforward in flavor profile - lacking in some florality and perfume and elegance - but this faithfully reflects its origins on the southern slope of the Savigny combe. And the old vine fruit is truly delicious. Really good I think. Holding up well. Bought on release.
