Yes, Chateau Yquem is expensive, especially when compared to every other Sauternes. Perhaps in its youth, it's hard to know why. But pop a cork on any other 50 year old bottle of sweet, white Bordeaux next to an Yquem and the lights will go off. You'll get it!
