Saturday, January 15, 2022 - Decanted 2 hours. Day 1 this was almost over the top...big fruit and tannin structure, very fruit forward and jammy. Black currant, cherry, pipe tobacco, vanilla. Left 1/2 bottle vacu-sealed in a 375ml overnight.
Day 2 this was disappointingly flat and completely uninteresting. No body, bland mouthfeel, and while the fruit was still very apparent, there was no structure to support it. It was like drinking robust grape juice. Day 1 score I'd say was a solid 92, day 2 more of an 86 so I split the difference. Should have finished the bottle on day 1 I guess. Drink now - 2025.
