Monday, November 23, 2020 - Pours a medium, hazy ruby.
N - raspberry, rosehip, atomized granite, crushed strawberry, allspice, lardo, minced tarragon and basil, ripe citrus.
P - more red fruits, raspberry, choke cherry, underripe wild strawberry, some nice stem and seed bitterness, Irish breakfast tea, ruby red grapefruit, hot gravel (is that a flavor?), freshly ground cassia, ripe pomegranate, iron filings.
M+ acid, more grip than your average Beaujo. Pretty clean considering the category, probably a touch of VA that only contributes rather than detracts. Long, mouthwatering finish bolstered by subtle tannins that suggest a long life ahead of it. Would love to revisit in 3-5. Jean-Paul and Charly make some of my all time favorite Cru Beaujolais.
