Thursday, November 15, 2018 - Developed and slightly rustic this Aglianico has the typical big mouthfeel weight and softness but only modest varietal character. The acid is balanced and although quite dry the finish gives a mildly sweet impression. That said at $13 it is a very good value and very enjoyable as a heavier style but soft wine, it is far better than most of the sweet fruit bombs that are so prevalent these days.
