Tuesday, April 28, 2020 - what a privilege. drank in Germany at my mate johannes house with his best mate and neighbour Christopher and another friend Christophe. this bottle was low shoulder and attempted to wax seal to prevent further ullage. no hope given just being opened as a curio. first smells did not show up something undrinkable but eyes were then raised and attention focused. and sure enough in the mouth it was lovely. nothing exceptional but lovely balance of old flavours and little sweet fruit and full integration of all parts. drank well over 30 minutes or so. and I think better than 1924 Latour and 1929 Haut Brion i had also had around the same time. i suspect better level well cellared bottles will be even better. One to source if you can find it. a true privilege, thanks Gents.
