Thursday, September 8, 2022 - Part of a blind tasting, writing from memory. Splash decant for 30 min then back into bottle, followed for a few hours.

Nose was surprisingly oak driven with dark red fruit, but over time the oak settled down. The palate was absolutely lovely and classic for Oregon pinot. Good acid, true red fruit of raspberry and strawberry, medium light body, nice mouthfeel, and gentle pinot tannins. Finish showed good fruit and rocky character.

This is drinking very well now but opened up significantly with air time. This leads me to believe this will go another 5-10 years in the cellar with ease. In terms of Oregon, I thought this was on the riper side of things, but not ripe in the way Penner-Ash wines can be. Wouldn't mistake this for Burgundy though.

Drink now or hold for a few years. Plenty of life left.
