Sunday, November 11, 2018 - Solid Aglianico. Decanted 1.5 hours. Dark cranberry body. Nose is old world, exhibiting boxwood, cherries, and dust. Tart and dry cherries and leather on palate; very smooth. No secondary flavors yet but hopeful 4+ hours will allow some blue and black fruit to show through. Decent finish with spices, black pepper, and lingering tannins.
Got a little better on 2nd night. Exhibiting more cherry and leather; cote de castillon-like.
