Saturday, September 22, 2012 - This bottle only had about 7 bubbles left in it, which was ok because it meant we all got one each, but what a marvellous old Champers it is. It starts out with a note of grilled nuts. With air there are mushroom and truffle things along with a little honey and curry leaf. In the mouth it is rich and savoury with plenty of earthy notes countering a little caramel and a big lick of minerally acidity. It is extremely long and partnered some Coffin Bay oysters most amiably.
