94 Points

Sunday, December 25, 2022 - This wine is really starting to get to a nice place! Already ready to drink, however, still some years away from its peak.
It clearly lives up to the expectations and I agree with Allen Meadows that this is a 94 point wine and its peak might start at 2026.

The wine is incredibly concentrated with a fine spine of acidity - it does not seem heavy at all, just pure elegance! In that sense it is a textbook Meursault Perrières. However, it should be noted, that is clearly shows the style of the vintage, as mineral flavours are in the background (at least at the moment). Otherwise this is a perfect Burgundy...white and yellow orchard aromas with layers and layers of complexity that still require some time to unpack; perfectly integrated oak flavours which are also very complex and just need some time to integrate even more and a touch of sweetness that hints at a future where this might somewhat smell and taste like an old Chablis (with oak) with ripe developed fruit, honey, spices, almonds, nuts and hay in the future.

I absolutely love Meursault Perrières, since it is my favourite vineyards of the Côte de Beaune and if you don't mind a fruitier style, this is an amazing wine for you! And I suppose, the older it gets, the style of the vintage will show less and less and this will get much more "terroir-driven" and even better.

An excellent wine from an excellent domaine!
