90 Points

Sunday, January 15, 2023 - Vinetasters: Loire red (Wilmette, IL): Served double blind. Dried dates and figs, with a raisinated quality that in a lineup of cabernet franc had me thinking that this may well have been an Alzero. Clearly a wine made in a vastly different style from the others, though in hindsight this wasn't a modernist Napa wine but rather some dessert-style red wine. My 1st, group's 7th.
