Friday, September 18, 2020 - Coravin pour from a bottle bought directly from producer in 2019. Grenache 90%, Syrah 10%, Cinsault 10%, on limestone-clay terroir. Alcohol 15%.

At opening, strong smell of raw eat juice. After 1h decant, it evolved to roasted/smoked meat with some red cherry. After 3 hours, the meaty side decreased to make room for a wonderful red cherry juice. Alcohol is noticeable.

The palate also developed this wonderful red cherry juice. In the middle, some garrigue notes are passing by and it finishes with a menthol aroma typically from grenache. We can definitely notice the terroir from clay (strength) and limestone (finesse). Acidity plays an important role to compensate the high level of alcohol.

A very interesting wine due to the mix of meaty and juicy aromas. Medium complexity and body, it gives the impression to have David and Golliath in the same body. To open minimum 3 hours or give it 3 more years in the cellar. Perfect with game meat.
