87 Points

Tuesday, March 17, 2020 - We've had a lot of Tikal over the years and their wine (of various varieties) has been among our favorites, but we knew their stuff needed aging, so we gave it 6 years which usually worked.
This was just short of disappointing, but still can rate a 87. A lot of the depth and character we have seen in prior vintages with Tikal was lacking.
It tasted like a $15 Malbec.
Maybe an off vintage? Certainly not a flawed wine and we gave it several hours of air and it was the same the second night.
Sadly, makes me think I need to look elsewhere for Agentinian Malbec in this price range.
