Saturday, August 29, 2020 - 90 is "Very Good", which this is. Our prior bottles were consumed too young, this is at a very good stage at almost 7 years old (assume harvest in Argentina would be Feb-March 2021 as opposed to September here).
The fruit is the star and it is neither overbearing nor timid. Lots of red raspberry and cherry with touches of oak and earth. Just a click or two short of robust, with enough elegance to make you really appreciate what the Argentinians have done with Malbec, previously (and still) a Bordeaux blending grape. This was 100% Malbec. Any Tikal product has a great Quality to Price Ratio (QPR), but they need a few years to develop to their potential.
