Saturday, February 17, 2024 - I find it interesting that professional reviewers rate this from 95 to a high of 97. Then there's all these CT reviews that are 92. I rely on both inputs, but I have to say that different standards must be in play. Personally, I love Grenache and Chaupin is 100% old vine grenache. I'm just not sure what's not to like here. I gave this a 3 hour decant, and that made the tannins silken. Just a hint of sour cherry on the finish kept me from giving this a higher score. For fun, look at other CT reviews for other highly rated Chatauneufs. You'll see the exact same curious dicotomy.
