Monday, March 2, 2020 - 95% syrah and 5% mourvedre. Nose has blackberry, fennel, and woodsmoke. Pure, primary fruit flavors of black grapes and tart red cherries. Not too spicy, floral or funky; Light tannins, medium acid, savory palate, and long, cool menthol finish.

I initially scored this an 87 but on day 2 it picked up very nice weight and stood up to a strong lemon ginger chicken dish in a positive way that I didn’t expect. This is a well made wine with a rich palate. Per the label, “give it time after opening”, like 4-6 hours or more.
