95 Points

Thursday, July 23, 2020 - Wild and fresh strawberry-orange sorbet and stemmy brush notes compete with darker black cherry and plum skin flavors. Unresolved and raw indeed, but loaded with awesome stuffing and energy just waiting to burst out its reved-up and would-be ready complexity and concentration... as in 5-7 years more in bottle to be ready. Finishes in a lip-smacking surge; the back end is super grippy, but with notable pulsating primary flavors that elevate the profile. A fun and fascinating wine in the making. Hold until 2025-2027+. 94-95+ points.

Even with its fun roller coaster ride personality, the Riotte is slightly less compelling than the outrageously complex Pruliers. Both wines (and even the lesser Auxey-Duresses) are all worthy 2016 1er Crus from T-M.
