91 Points

Wednesday, May 7, 2008 - Bright, effusive aromas of vanilla and spice transition to round, generous flavors of dried black fruits, earth, and oak, with just a dusting of tobacco. This is a concentrated and intense wine that is assertively forward in every respect, but has enough structure to keep it firm on the palate. For those who appreciate the big, extracted California style -- you will love this wine. For those who want a Syrah to serve with food -- be forewarned: this could overwhelm all but the heaviest dishes.
