Saturday, January 13, 2007 - Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Vertical Tasting (Lake Forest, CA): Strong nose of tobacco and cedar. While still quite tannic, I was able to eke out some loam, leather, dark chocolate, and sage. What I wasn't able to get was fruit. Not terrible by any means, but it certainly did not wow me. 87-88 points.
