Sunday, November 3, 2002 - Tasted at vertical Chateau Montelena tasting at the home of Amy Weinberg. Bright disc. Deep purple/ruby with purple rim. Clean nose, showing moderately intense, slightly stemmy currants, cassis, anise and earth. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with medium, slightly astringent tannins and similar flavors as for the nose. Long, astringent finish.
