Saturday, November 18, 2006 - Dark ruby red. Deep fragrant nose of soil-inflected blackberry, cassis, and Cuban tobacco with distinctly minty Asian spice notes that seem to appear in the best Pomerol with some bottle age. In the mouth, sweet and ripe flavors of blackberry and soil tones on entry, with the spice notes dominating the long finish. Not quite the unctuous fruit monster I remember when drinking this wine young, now this is a beautifully balanced, multiply layered wine that is really showing its aristocratic side now. One has to feel privileged to drink this wine, wish I had more…
