Saturday, November 21, 2015 - Second bottle of a six-pack cellared since release, the first bottle was opened at age 15. Perfect cork and fill into the neck, dark red core with a little bricking at the rim. It takes about 90 minutes for this to really open up. Strong nose of earthy, piney forest, mouth-watering umami, smoke and cherry with hints of emerging sweet aged Bordeaux complexity. Medium body, really nice balance, somewhat harsh tannins during the first hour mellow out with time and integrate nicely, fruit still present throughout, medium finish. Excellent with further upside potential as tertiary components should become more prominent with more time. The fruit is there and like the better '86s, this will reward patience.
