Thursday, April 2, 2020 - Last tasted a year ago, it seems the advent of the silver anniversary has done the trick. It is ready to drink, but with a structure to stay at this level for a decade or more. The nose is opulent with ripe red cherry, plum and leather, and has a typical Pomerol elegance. It is displaying secondary notes and the tannin has resolved, but I still find it a little light mid palate. Likewise the finish is on the shorter side. Whether further aging will address these issues remains to be seen. However, it has moved forward in the last year and is a top notch Bordeaux.
