Thursday, December 9, 2010 - One of too many wines at our wine group annual holiday dinner. From my cellar. Unknown provenance-had it for many years. Opened, not decanted, and poured 2 hours later through device to remove light sediment and some crumbly cork. Mature somewhat cloudy ruby in color. Nice soft nose of cherry, earth and tea. Nice balanced palate of cherry, chocolate, tea and blackberry. Drinking surprisingly well at the moment, but I would not hold this too much longer. Very enjoyable with food.
