Monday, January 29, 2018 - Tasted at Benvenuto Brunello NYC. Medium to dark garnet. Nose is pretty layered and complex with cigar box, leather, minerals, and red fruit. Good tannin and acidity for aging and a chewy mouth feel. Flavors are cherry, wet stones, leather and a slightly medicinal note in the fairly short finish. Again the finish is my issue here as in the 2013 Normale and the 2013 La Casa, but overall this has a bit more going for it in terms of depth of flavor and richness. I do wish there was more on the finish however.
