Wednesday, June 16, 2021 - This has come together and is less edgy and green than it was at its last showing. This note is from a bottle open for over 24 hours. Beautiful lift, freshness and complexity on the nose: ripe blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry, with iris, rose, mint, sassafras, ginger, cocoa butter, and spicy balsam fir accenting these sweet fruits. It is tangy and nervous, but the finish fans out with notes of dark fruit, flowers, pine and pleasantly bitter cacao. Scrumptious and gulpable today, this should continue to gain polish and composure for a few more years. Not sure about the long haul, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it in very fine form a decade from now, as the fruit is intense and totally primary. Love this pure style, there is a feeling of direct connection to the fruit from which this wine was made.
