Monday, September 2, 2013 - From a pristine bottle, this wine had a deep yellow center and clear rims. Given this is no ordinary Bourgogne Blanc, it should not be surprising that it took this wine 3 hours of decanting to open up. The nose showed lemon, almond paste, white stone, and brioche.
In the mouth, this was nice but nothing special until the 3 hour mark. Afterward it showed much more flavor, structure, and length. Overall, this was quite refined and beautifully balanced.
A lovely wine at its peak and pushing on 93 quality. While it will last for a while, I see no reason to wait. Many consistent notes. The hard part is remembering to give it as much aeration as it needs!
