Monday, December 30, 2019 - Popped and poured. Dark crimson color. Nose of black cherry, juicy black plums, a bit of vanilla, warm baking spices and toasty oak. Similar flavors on the palate with dark red berry fruit, cigar box, some bitter dark chocolate on the back end, all framed with a nice woody, oak note. Medium acid, medium+ tannin. Plush mouthfeel and finishes smooth. Hits all the right notes for what I look for in a merlot.
