92 Points

Sunday, November 4, 2018 - Nose of fresh cut flowers, violets, vanilla, caramel, cassis fruit, black licorice and forest floor. Massively full bodied with sweet but rather rough tannins and very prominent oak influence throughout. There is really nice fruit underneath the surface here, but this wine is so primary and oaky it has a hard time making its way through. Very rustic, and definitely not the purest, most elegant or refined representation of BTK. This does seem to get better the longer it's opened, so there's some hope over time it will come together and get better. It's all over the place right now.
