Saint Cosme is a wonderful producer. While I think their sweet spot is in their home turf S Rhone cuvées, this is an excellent CR. While a blend of various lieu dit from the appelation, it drinks much like a Cote Blonde with a lighter, almost feminine quality. Popped and poured, this wine presents really nicely. Starting to get a little bricking on the rim, medium viscosity. Expressive on the nose with floral, black fruit, and bacon notes. Similar on the palate, with more tertiary notes than you’d expect for just a 7 year old wine. Medium body, maybe a little lighter than you expect from a cote rotie. Really nice acidity keeps you coming back for more. Tannins are present but nicely rounded and silky.

This is a winner, don’t hesitate to drink now, and I don’t think it needs much of a decant if at all. I’m going to stock back up on slightly stronger vintages, will probably go with the 19’s and let them sit for a while.
