Tuesday, December 14, 2021 - A similar showing to last year’s bottle, with an initially cagey but alluring display of red cranberry, red currant, and dusty spice notes slowly skulking out of the back alley and cautiously shuffling onto the palate to make for an attenuated frontal entry on the first pour. With about three hours of slow O2 and decent swirling in the glass, this modest mouse becomes more decisive and deeper, bearing more profundity by way of darker berry fruit, chicken skin, and faint citrus rind flavors. Hold for a few years, however, knowing full well this will never be a big-boned expression and instead most remarkable for its precision and charming demarcation of distinctive flavor identification. A consummate food wine.
